Full Signature Series Makeover Near Atlanta

A garage with two separate storage spaces sounds like a dream — until both of them turn into dumping grounds and you realize you’ve just doubled the problem.

That’s exactly where this Atlanta-area homeowner found themselves. A main garage bay and an attached storage room. Plenty of square footage on paper. In practice? Bare concrete-block walls, wire shelving bending under the weight of seasonal bins, a drill press sharing floor space with old chairs, and cabinet panels still in their shipping cardboard leaning against the wall. The storage room had a utility sink, exposed pipes, a grounding rod mounted to the wall, and no organization to speak of.

More space. More mess.

Two Rooms, One System, One Team

When the homeowner reached out to Garaginization of Marietta, the scope was clear: both spaces needed to work, and they needed to work together. Not two separate projects bolted onto the same house — one cohesive system designed to serve two distinct purposes.

That’s the kind of project our team is built for. From the initial design consultation through installation, one in-house crew handles everything. No subcontractors. No handoffs. Every installer is a trained, W2 Garaginization employee — which matters when you’re anchoring cabinets into concrete walls and fabricating a custom panel to conceal a grounding rod.

The solution across both spaces: a full Signature Series cabinet system, spec’d with a unified finish language and enough flexibility to serve both a main garage bay and a utility/hobby room.

The Main Garage Bay: Floor-to-Ceiling and Built to Last

The main bay got the full treatment.

Pewter Signature Series cabinets with the Elite door style run the length of multiple walls — tall towers flanking the windows, base cabinet runs across the back, drawer banks where they’re needed most. Black 3mm edge banding gives every cabinet a clean, high-contrast border that reads intentional rather than industrial. Bar-style handles in black — 16″ on base and upper cabinets, 24″ on the tall units — keep the hardware consistent and scaled to the space.

Every door and drawer has soft-close hinges and glides. It’s one of those details that doesn’t photograph well but changes how a garage feels the moment you use it.

Graphite Black countertops cap the base cabinet runs. At 38″ x 26″ with matching 3mm black edge banding, they’re cut to spec for this job — not pulled off a shelf. The label on each slab confirms it: job-tagged, custom-cut, and ready to install. That’s what separates a Garaginization project from a weekend hardware store build.

96 square feet of black PVC slatwall covers the upper wall sections, loaded out with a full accessory package: S-hooks, 4″ and 8″ snap hooks, double hooks, loop hooks, J-hooks, and baskets. It’s a complete tool and gear wall, not a few hooks screwed into drywall.

The epoxy-flake floor — already in place before the cabinet installation began — ties the whole space together. The finished main bay looks less like a garage and more like a room that happens to store a car. That’s the point.

The Storage Room: Where the Real Work Gets Done

The storage room had a different set of demands. A utility sink. Exposed concrete walls. A grounding rod that couldn’t be moved. And a homeowner who needed space for kayaks, power tools, seasonal storage, and a real work surface.

The design solution addressed all of it.

Matching Signature Series cabinets in Pewter keep the finish language consistent with the main bay. The hardware and door style carry through — same Elite profile, same black bar handles, same soft-close operation. The room looks like it belongs to the same house, because it does.

The countertop here takes a different direction: butcher block with black metal legs, which gives the storage room a warmer, more workshop-appropriate feel without breaking from the overall design. It’s a functional contrast — different material, same intentionality.

48 square feet of black PVC slatwall handles the tool and accessory organization. A Monkey Bars storage system in gray adds another layer of flexible wall storage — and as Atlanta’s exclusive authorized dealer for Monkey Bar Storage systems, Garaginization of Marietta is the only company in the greater Atlanta area that can install this patented shelving system. No other local provider offers it.

For the kayaks: a canoe/kayak rack pair mounted to the wall. For the workbench: two 84″ x 48″ mobile workbench units joined into a single solid piece — a work surface that can handle real projects, not just a folding table pushed against the wall.

And then there’s the grounding rod.

Rather than working around it or leaving it exposed, the team fabricated a custom 24″ x 30″ Pewter filler panel with matching Pewter banding to conceal it entirely. It’s the kind of detail that most installations skip. It’s also the kind of detail that separates a designed system from an assembled one.

All cabinets in this room are anchored directly into the concrete walls — not drywall, not studs. Concrete. That requires the right hardware, the right process, and a team that’s done it before.

What the Finished Spaces Actually Look Like

The main garage bay is the one that tends to stop people mid-sentence when they see the photos. Pewter towers rising to the ceiling on either side of the windows. Long base cabinet runs with Graphite Black tops. A slatwall system that holds everything from extension cords to garden tools without looking cluttered. An epoxy floor that reflects the overhead light. It’s a garage that looks like it was designed — because it was.

The storage room is quieter in the photos, but arguably more impressive in function. A kayak rack on the wall. A workbench that’s actually wide enough to use. Cabinets that match the garage next door. A grounding rod that’s invisible. A utility sink that still works. Infrastructure that used to fight the room now coexists with it.

Both spaces have a defined purpose. Both have storage that scales with how the homeowner actually lives. Neither one is a dumping ground anymore.
